Shirley's Story
Shirley was there for her friends when they needed help. She would drive them to the Harrington Food Bank when they were running low on groceries. That's what good friends do.
The tables turned for Shirley when she found herself struggling to get by. She is working, but Shirley, a widow, is raising two young children on her own. At the friendly urging of her mother-in-law, she turned to the Harrington Food Bank for help.
“I got melons, cauliflower and asparagus - things that weren't in my budget," Shirley says of the first time she received food from the Harrington Food Bank. "My kids go hog wild for the fruits and vegetables. We appreciate the help."
