The Pound for Pound Challenge officially launched Tuesday, Jan. 5, on NBC's The Biggest Loser. For every pound you pledge to lose through June 30, 2010, the Pound For Pound Challenge will donate 14¢ to Second Harvest. Click here to sign up and pledge your weight loss goals.

Dump Hunger

Dump Hunger is a post-holiday food drive sponsored by Western States Equipment, beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 29. This six-week campaign partners the 13 Western States branch locations with local food banks within the communities in which they serve. In an effort to give back, Western States Equipment will match $1 for every five pounds of food collected, up to a $17,000 contribution. Click here for more information.

Thank You

A big thank you to the South Hill Adventist Church for raising funds for Second Harvest during their annual presentation of the Journey to Bethlehem on Dec. 4 through 6.

Sante Restaurant and Charcuterie hosted a wine dinner, in conjunction with Lone Canary Winery and the Inlander on Dec. 7. Ten percent of the proceeds benefited Second Harvest. Thanks to all who participated in the event.

Willow Williams of the Neptune Society (center) presented a $400 check to Second Harvest in December. The local Neptune Society was pleased to make the donation as part of the Spokane chapter of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants fund drive to benefit Second Harvest.
